Raised in Monterrey, Mexico, Gissel grew up surrounded by historical buildings and skyscrapers alike. Curious in nature, she learned early on about the importance of the built environment while exploring the city. She credits her childhood in Mexico for shaping the way she views the world and for ultimately pushing her to pursue a career in design.

Gissel graduated at the top of her class from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. After graduation, she made the big move to Austin, where she now resides with her girlfriend and her dog. In her free time, you can find her tending to her plants or walking to her favorite local coffeeshop.
